Our students Neema and Mohammed had an opportunity to share their refugee journey and challenges with the student at Montessori elementary school in Cleveland Heights. We continues to encourage, empower and create spaces for our youths to tell their refugees stories because they’re very powerful and teaches us how to be grateful. Neema and Mohammed were welcome by a group of 7th & 8th graders who were very excited to hear their stories and how they are overcoming the culture barrier here in America.

The students at Montessori were very respectful, they shared their homemade lunch and asked our students so many questions regarding their experiences as refugees. Our students were very thankful to be able to attend Ruffing Montessori’s Culture Dialogue and look forward going back to engage in broader conversation with the students.
